Le prochain OPEN DE FRANCE HICKORY 2011 : 22 et 23 Juillet 2011
Un
siècle après la victoire d’Arnaud Massy à l’Open de France 1911 sur le
parcours du Golf de La Boulie sera organisé le III° Open de France
Hickory , les 22 (Tour d’essai) et 23 Juillet 2011 (Championnat) qui est
une compétition ouverte à tous et à toutes Amateurs ou Professionnels
de tout niveau et de tous âges. Des clubs appropriés... seront offerts à la location à cette occasion .
Cette
épreuve est disputée chaque année de préférence sur un parcours de
l’Open de France « un siècle après » avec des clubs à manches en bois d’
hickory utilisés avant 1935.
Le golf hickory permet de
mieux appréhender l’architecture des golfs historiques et la manière
dont nos Anciens jouaient au golf. Mais après la disparition depuis une
quinzaine d’année de cette génération, elle est devenue au fil des
années une discipline à part entière du golf . Elle compte plusieurs
milliers d’adeptes sur les Cinq Continents et n’est plus seulement le
caprice de quelques Collectionneurs.
Tant l’évolution du
matériel que de la pratique du Golf ont marqué aussi un retour aux
sources et aux fondamentaux de notre sport. Elle est d'un accès facile
pour le joueur de golf expérimenté. Elle met en valeur le talent
technique des plus Anciens car requiert moins de force que d'adresse et
parle aux plus jeunes en éveillant leur imagination.
«
La Boulie », du mot bouillie était la ferme où Louis XIV élevait ses
bébés illégitimes. Il y a 110 ans en 1901 est créé le Golf de Paris, par
Pierre Deschamps, premier de la Capitale et de 1906 à 1912 y sont
disputés les Open de France. Le golf est racheté en 1951 par le Racing
Club de France.
Arnaud Massy fort de sa victoire à
l’Open Britannique en 1907 à Hoylake (Royal Liverpool), et Professionnel
du Golf de La Boulie impose cette nouvelle épreuve qui est la plus
ancienne de l’Europe Continentale.
En 1911 il créée également le premier Championnat de France professionnel.
C’est
sa victoire à l’Open de France 1911, sa deuxième victoire (1907-1911)
après sa victoire à l’édition inaugurale de 1906 donc sa Troisième
victoire que nous commémorerons les 22 et 23 Juillet prochain.
La
Boulie formerly the farm-castle where our King Louis the XIVth had all
his unlegitimate babies and he had a lot , a big ranch for this, from
the word "bouillie" which means, a kind of gruel or mush for kids. It is
the first Golf Club of Paris and therefore before being acquired by RCF
(Racing Club de France) formerly named Club de Paris and founded in
1901.
This Club has been for one century also the N°1 in France for the total of Tournaments won every year.
In
1906 was held there the first Open de France which is after the Open
(British) the first Open Championship of Continental Europe.
The 1911 edition was held there therefore we moved from Chantilly where we had two editions around the centennial of the Club.
The
winner of 1911 French Open was Arnaud Massy who was the head
professional and also won an Open in Hoylake ( Royal Liverpool ) in
1907. This is his Third win as he won also in la Boulie the first
edition in 1906- 1907 as well and won also 1925 edition in Chantilly.
In 1912 , the
Founder of La Boulie Golf de Paris Pierre Deschamps founded also l'Union
des Golfs de France, the ancestry of French Federation Of Golf and of
course the French Open was also held in La Boulie.
A la demande du golf de Chantilly en la personne du Président d'honneur M. Jean-Louis Dupont, nous avons prolongé les Célébrations par une seconde édition en 2010 afin de permettre aux membres du Club et d'autre personnes souhaitant s'aggréger de participer à l'évènement.
The Open de France Hickory 2010 is the big happening of the Hickory
Golf Season. It has been since first edition hailed universally as a
Classic and one of the kind among Hickory Golf Championships. Chantilly
is one of the best historic Club of France, host of numerous Open de
France. it was one of the Best Course of the 2009 season. It is offered
another time as an opportunity for people who missed the first edition. Thanks
to Perry Sommers of Australia and Randy Jensen of the USA and many
others from 6 other countries, the BGCS and its Captain David Hamilton,
and also due to the kind patronage of Mr Jean-Louis Dupont the man
whose life is one with the History of the Club, this made a Unique
event during Centennial under the auspices of the spirits of the
founders Arnaud Massy and Jean Gassiat. It will happen again the 2nd
of July (PR) and 3rd of July (Champ) on the historic Course of
Chantilly during the time of our Conventional Open de France in our
National Golf course. This will be the opportunity for people interested to attend a championship and witness the other. Also
for people attending the Open Championship 150th Anniversary in St
Andrews it is just one week before and allows a combined trip to Europe.

L'Open de France Hickory s'est tenu les 7 et 8 Aout 2009 sur le parcours historique du Club de Chantilly, un siècle après son inauguration en Septembre 1909.

La Société Française de Golf Hickory a été officiellement invitée lors des célébrations du Centenaire par le Golf de Chantilly et a été fiere de créer ce Championnat dans le cadre d'une action de mécénat au profit du Club.
Nous avons invité aussi deux associations Françaises de Collectionneurs l'APGF et l'EAGHC pour la Première édition afin de sensibiliser leurs membres au golf hickory.
